Mud Daubers Summer Camp 2019: A Summer of Earth Artists

This summer at The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art, our campers will learn how to make environmentally conscious art that transforms children into responsible and proactive citizens of the world. Our art camp will have adventurous experiences looking at, talking about, and making art. Classes will include ceramics, painting, ecology, mixed media, and movement.

About The Camp

Let us push your child’s creativity forward into making amazing and impactful art! This summer our Earth Artists will learn how to make environmentally conscious art that transforms children into responsible and proactive citizens of the world. Our art camp provides an opportunity for kids to think creatively, develop new skills, create narratives and experience new challenges. Campers will have adventurous experiences looking at, talking about, and making art. Use your creative power to do good for the planet! Classes will include ceramics, painting, ecology, mixed media projects, and movement.  

Mud Daubers: A Summer of Earth Artists is designed for children ages 6 and older; children ages 5 and under will not be admitted. *Campers must pack a lunch and snack every day to eat during supervised breaks.

You must fill out the Enrollment Application and pay a deposit to be registered in the camp.

Camp Hours

Art classes are held Monday through Thursday; the week culminates on Friday with an art reception featuring the work of the campers.

The Mud Daubers camp hours vary according to age. 

  • For children ages 6-9 the camp will consist of a daily 3 hr program.
  • For children and teenagers ages 10-14  the camp will consist of a daily 5 hr program.

Week 1 – Planet Healers: June 10th to June 14th – Ages 6 – 9, 9 am – 12 pm.

Week 2 – Eco-Artists: June 17th to June 21st – Ages 10 – 14, 10 am – 3 pm.

Week 3 – World Changers: June 24th to June 28th – Ages 6 – 9, 9 am – 12 pm.

Week 4 – Natural Creatives: July 8th to July 12th – Ages 10 – 14, 10 am – 3 pm.

Camp Fees

Ages 6 – 9: $175

Ages 10 – 14: $250

Registration

Parents must fill out a registration form and scroll down to choose a payment. Choosing the deposit option below means that the remaining balance must be paid a week before your child’s camp week begins.

Kroc Center Summer Day Camps

WHEN SCHOOL’S OUT, KROC CAMP IS IN!

We offer a variety of camps for kids ages 5 through 12.  Our camps offer an adventure where kids will experience field trips, sports, art, music, and lots more.

Day Camp:

Campers enjoy swimming, indoor & outdoor games, music, arts & crafts, group games, sports, and other fun activities.

Details:

AGES 5– 12 (Campers must be enrolled in Kindergarten)

Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM       Monday – Friday

Includes breakfast, lunch, and a snack.

They also offer specialty camps in art, chef, martial arts, sports, theatre, and music!

NASA’s Astro Camp at Stennis Space Center

NASA’s 2019 Stennis ASTRO CAMP® is a series of week-long summer camps held in June and July (excluding the week of July 4th) for children in grade levels 2nd through 12th.  The goal of NASA’s ASTRO CAMP is to provide opportunities for learners to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) educational activities that capitalize on NASA’s unique assets, content, and ASTRO CAMP methodology to expose the next generation of explorers to STEM career possibilities aligned with NASA’s Mission Directives.

ASTRO CAMP sessions are aligned with NASA current themes:  Flight, Space Technology, Earth/Solar System, Humans in Space and Mission Moon to Mars.  The camp culminates with a tour of Stennis Space Center, including rocket engine test stands, launching of Estes Rockets and ASTRO CAMP’s family closing program.  The 7th – 10th grade -STARS ASTRO CAMP includes advanced robotics and 3D printing experiences and specialty camps featuring SeaPerch Robotics in “Space to Oceans.”
